soe noire (musically known as kaybug thug) is a nigerian-american musician and digital artist based in the east coast. Inspired by early 2000s media and music, noire’s artwork aims to capture and celebrate nostalgia, coming of age, and spirituality from a Black perspective.“The present themes in my artwork are a mixture of romance, grief, and coming into your own personhood. Creating Black artwork has been an absolute necessity in my own healing and spiritual journey. Art and music is a form of therapy for me, and also a form of escapism during hard times. I hope my art and music encourages people in my community to appreciate the beauty in our culture and practices.”
